Jalandhar 1 June (Gurkirat Singh)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Autonomous and Heritage Institution, Jalandhar’s NSS Unit observes No Tobacco Day. On this occasion various competitions such as Slogan Writing, Poster Making and Essay Writing were organized. 80 students participated in these competitions with great enthusiasm. The Principal of the college Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi encouraged the students to participate more in such competitions as these are organized to make the people aware about the problems of Drug Addiction. The ultimate goal of World No Tobacco day is to contribute to protecting present and future generation about the devastating health consequences due use. Madam Principal gave the prizes to the students who got different positions in competitions. She also appreciated the efforts of Ms. Ashima Sahni, Head, Department of Political Science and Incharge NSS Unit. The results of various competitions were as follows.
Essay writing- Pallavi Thakur 1st, Mehak Deep 2nd and Jaspreet 3rd
Slogan writing- Baljot Kaut 1st, Gurdev Kaur 2nd and Muskan Deep 3rd
Poster making- Manmeet 1st, Amanpreet 2nd and Manraj Kaur 3rd
Essay writing- Pallavi Thakur 1st, Mehak Deep 2nd and Jaspreet 3rd
