Extension lecture on Vedent Darshan at KMV

Jalandhar 31 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar delving deep into our cultural roots and forever being connected with them is a basic characteristic. The college recently organized a lecture on Vedant Darshan by Acharya Satyajit. He began by taking about Upnishads which ment that the disciple sat near the teacher who gave updesh (techings). He also mentioned the four darshan’s i.e Sankhya darshan, Ved darshan, Nayya darshan and Memansa darsha. Basically elaborating on the fact that man was to limited extent free in his actions, he said that the outcome of these actions was not in man’s control even though all of the actions were done with a definite goal in mind. The difference b/w Nishkam karma and normal Karma was explained elaborately by him. Stating that nishkam karma was a karma that was done without any desire for material on other worldly things while all normal Karmas were inspired by desires for worldly things. He also talked about how to remain balanced in extreme sorrow and joy so that we could protect ourselves and others from an uncalled for charm. Overall it was a spiritually elevating experience. Principal prof.Atima Sharma Dwivedi and other staff members had an interactive session with Acharya ji offer the discourse. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi thanked Acharji for sparing valuable time from his routine to enlighten all. She also thanked Swami Madhurananda for accompanying Acharya ji to KMV.
