Jalandhar 7 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts organized Annual Art Exhibition, in collaboration with Punjab Lalit Kala Academy, Chandigarh held at Stya Paul Art Gallery at Virsa Vihar, Jalandhar. The exhibition displayed 116 art pieces by 88 different artists. Diwan Manna, President of Lalit Kala Academy, was the resource person of the event. Manna informed the gathering that 30 art pieces were made by the artists invited, 43 of professional artists while 43 of the student-artists. Internationally acclaimed art connoisseurs Mithu Sen and Sonia Khurana adjudicated the art works and judged 8 works worthy of award.
3 professional artists Amarbir Singh, Jaspreet Singh and Mangat Singh will be awarded Rs. 50,000 each for their works while 8 student-artists Gurmeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh (from Moga), Gurpreet Singh (from Khanna), Neha Gupta and Gurjeet Singh were awarded Rs 25,000 each as the reward for their artistic creativity.
Principal Dr Sucharita Sharma congratulated the awardees and paid her gratitude to the Punjab Lalit Kala Academy, Chandigarh for their unstinted support and cooperation in the successful completion of the event.
