Jalandhar 15 April (Jaswinder Azad)- P.G. Department of Physics of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar organized Sky Gazing event in which more than 100 science students participated with full zeal. Mr. Akashdeep and his team from Science City, Kapurthala was invited to showcase the view of natural satellite of earth and other planets. The guest speakers gave an overview of the universe and galaxy system to the students with the help of power point presentation. The team explained the formation of universe starting from big bang theory and described the formation of the galaxies in an interesting way. They also discussed the various basic concepts of astronomy with the students. The relative motion and size of the earth with respect to other planets was also discussed in this event. Alongwith this information students observed the surface of moon and the largest planet Jupiter alongwith its three moons very clearly with the help of telescope. College Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the department of physics to organized such fruitful event for the intellectual growth of the students.
