Jalandhar 22 March (Jaswinder Azad)- To boost up the skills of creativity, competition and leadership among the students of Journalism & Mass Communication, Multimedia & Printing Technology, an intercollege competition PRINTECH-EXPO 2018 was organised by PG Department of Computer Science & Information Technology. In this competition, 87 students of 10 colleges from various cities like Jalandhar & Phagwara participated in various competitions like 5Ws & 1H, Photography, Live Audio play, Mobile Journalism, Digital Ad. Designing and Clay Modeling. Raman Meer, Senior Jornalist from the city graced the occasion as chief guest. He was extended warm welcome by Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Dr. Manohar Singh ( Dean Administration & Head of Department) and other senior faculty member. Addressing the students Mr. Meer stressed on the need of simplicity and objectivity in the journalism. He also advised the students to work hard on getting expertise in a language.
Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra welcomed the guests and encouraged the students to ensure maximum participation in such events. He also highlighted the various developments being made by the college to provide best infrastructure for the newly started media courses. Dr. Manohar Singh mentioned the achievements of the department and thanked all the guests, colleges, faculty members and students for their whole-hearted contribution for the success of the event.Lyallpur Khalsa College won the overall trophy whereas Doaba College won the runner up trophy. The stage was conducted by Prof. Karamjit Kaur, Prof. Jaspreet Bains, Jagjit Singh & Pawanpreet Kaur B.A(JMC) Sem-II a decent manner. Shiana Chawla (Rounak Events), Divya Thakur (Vision Beyond), Prof. Sanjeev Anand, Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Dr Baldev Singh, Prof. Manpreet Singh, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Mandeep Bhatia, Prof. Gagandeep Singh, Prof. Jatinder Kumar, Prof. Vijayta, Prof. Vinay Shweta, Prof. Retinder Kaur were also present.
